actually i'll find such exercise useful ( maybe not for 30 mins :-)) , not
to question language and meaning but to explore inner responsive mechanisms
implicit in our mind. neuro-linguistic programming techniques and
ericksonian command lines would provide hours of fun to those interested in
having a possible peek at how things works in this respect ...

maybe a foreign language doesn't make sense consciously if you don't know
the meaning of the words being spoken ; surely it would on an unconscious
level, as the way words are delivered and pronounced, the volume implied and
the overall speed helps the comprehension of the emotional content of the
talk. frequencies and tones have effects on the body before being
interpreted by the conscious mind, we all know this. if you turn around and
suddenly you hit something with your head, i think it's meaningful enough,
just in the same way ...
somebody once wrote :

and Richard Bandler once wrote : " every form of communication is hypnosis
". then maybe to go further we should define what could be labelled as a
'form of communication' . sometimes i am afraid that there isn't a single
meaningless thing anywhere in what i perceive as reality .... but maybe it
is too early in the morning around here to get into this ....
