stereo manipulation(OT)

does any one on the list have any advice re separating out
'center channel' from a stereo mix? i am looking for something that is
exactly the
opposite of a vocal-remover, which would, in effect, isolate the vocal.
i am working on a windows machine.
any tips, tricks, or applicatons?
