improvisers, networks

hello.

a short call for off-list responses -- are there any of you involved in
improvisers' collectives / support networks? that is, a sort of launching
point for collaboration, via a way of finding similarly interested/located
people? where successful groupings are supported by collective shows and
releases?

i'm nutting out the details of such a thing for melbourne, australia. so i
ask favours of two kinds of microsound listers:

1. anybody currently or previously involved in such a thing - please, tell
me how it worked, how it didn't work, how it was structured, and what the
perceived success of it was!

2. people in the melbourne/AU area not already familiar with this idea
through exp_melb, but who are interested, should also contact me.

please do so off-list, so as not to clog the boxes of all.

thank you very much for reading this far.

i hope your day is making you smile, and not just a bitter, cynical smile!

sincerely,
jon.
