many people are runny pd on windows as well as on linux.
i dont know about jmax but there is a nice growing community around
pd--lots of people have built externals for pd; a csound object (linux)
and a vst~ object (windows) come to mind. i have a dual boot
winME/redhat7.2 going with pd in both partitions, though i find myself
behind the linux version of pd more often. you can do a lot of nice things
in pd and the open-sourceness of it gives a nice diy touch :)
