I picked it up at the MIT Press Bookstore last weekend (I guess the book
does exist to some extent now). I haven't really read any of it yet,
only skimmed through it and read the introduction.

I don't think it's the kind of book non-musicians/non-composers would
enjoy reading. It's a technical overview in the style of the "Computer
Music Tutorial", but which focuses on a more specific area. It's not about
"microsound" as in a style of music. It's about synthesis dealing with
small particles of sound. He defines microsound as "sound particles
lasting less than one-tenth of a second". There's a mind-numbingly large
amount of information in the book.

The only thing I've noticed which surprised me a bit is how much he seems
to reference his own work. It almost seems like in a way it's a book about
his own work with granular synthesis, etc..

Haven't listened to the CD yet, though it looks great. It features almost
70 examples.
