SAUVEZ RHINO !
RHINO est une association d'habitants qui occupe ( squatte) trois
immeubles près du centre de Genève (Suisse), depuis 13 ans.
L'histoire de ces immeubles constitue un cas d'école de l'influence
néfaste des spéculateurs immobiliers sur l'environnement urbain dans la
plupart des pays du monde.
Après avoir délibérément créé une crise du logement dans les années 80
(en laissant plus de 2000 logements vides) provocant à cette époque une
hausse insensée des loyers, et amorcé une bulle de spéculation aux
conséquences désastreuse pour les finances de la ville, les prédateurs
de l'immobilier profitent aujourd'hui d'une conjoncture à nouveau
favorable pour reprendre leur partie de Monopoly.
Le projet RHINO ( http://www.wild.ch/rhino ) revendique une manière
différente d'habiter la ville. Il a pendant ses 13 ans d'existence constitué une
expérience-phare de la vie associative et de la culture alternative. Le
projet RHINO vise un habitat très bon marché dans la durée, en
permettant aux habitants de contrôler le coût de leur logement (gestion
à but non lucratif).
RHINO est aujourd'hui menacé de disparition par l'intransigeance de son
nouveau propriétaire (homme d'affaire possédant déjà au moins huit
autres immeubles).
Si vous voulez faire entendre votre voix et nous soutenir, signez cette

RHINO is a Housing Association, which has occupied three buildings close

to the center of Geneva, Switzerland, for 13 years
The history of RHINO constitutes an academic case of the harmful
influence of property speculators on the urban environment in most
countries of the world.
After having deliberately created a housing shortage in the 80's (while
leaving more than 2000 empty residences) resulting in stiff rent rises,
these speculators initiated a "speculation bubble" with disastrous
consequences to the finances of the city when it eventually burst in the

early 90's. Now, the real-estate predators are picking up again and they

want another game of Monopoly !
Project RHINO ( http://www.wild.ch/rhino ) is about a different way to
live in
the city. During its 13 years of existence it has been a landmark of
community life and alternative culture. Project RHINO aims at affordable

housing in the long term, while making it possible for the residents to
control the cost of their housing (non-profit management).
Today, RHINO is threatened by the intransigence of its new owner, a
businessman who already owns at least eight other properties in town.
This man has flatly rejected all offers of purchase or rental made to
him in recent years, despite much encouragement from the State and the
Town Councils.

RETTEN WIR DAS PROJEKT RHINO!
RHINO ist eine Einwohnerassoziation, die seit dreizehn Jahren drei
Gebäude in der Nähe des Zentrums Genfs (Schweiz) besetzt.
Die Geschichte dieser Gebäude ist ein Schulbeispiel für den verheerenden

Einfluss der Immobiliarspekulation auf die städtische Umwelt in den
meisten Länder der Welt.
In den achtziger Jahren haben die Wohnungsspekulanten willentlich eine
Wohnraumkrise inszeniert, indem mehr als 2000 Wohnungen leerstehend
gelassen wurden, was einen absolut überhöhten Mietanstieg mitsichbrachte

und verheerende Folgen für die Finanzen der Stadt provozierte. Nach
dieser Spekulationsexplosion profitieren die Immobilienhaie heute von
einer erneut günstigen Konjunktur, um ihr Monopolyspiel von vorne
anzufangen.
Das Projekt RHINO ( http://www.wild.ch/rhino ), fordert eine andere Art,

die
Stadt zu bewohnen. Es ist während seiner 13 Jahre Existenz zu wichtigen
Beispiel assoziativen Lebens und alternativer Kultur geworden. Das
RHINO-Projekt visiert einen dauerhaften, sehr billigen Lebensraum an,
indem es den Einwohnern ermöglicht, die Kosten ihrer Wohnung (mit
uneigennütziger Selbstverwaltung ) zu kontrollieren.
Durch die Unnachgiebigkeit seines neuen Eigentümers, einem
Geschäftsmann, der mindestens acht weitere Häuser besitzt, ist RHINO
heute vom Rausschmiss bedroht.
Wenn ihr uns dagegen unterstützen und diese Meinung mitteilen wollt,
unterschreibt diese Petition.

ilegalmente, pero legítimamente tres edificios cerca del centro de
Ginebra (Suiza).
La historia de estos edificios constituye una pauta de estudio sobre la
influencia dañina de los especuladores inmobiliarios sobre el medio
ambiente urbano en la mayoría de los países del mundo.
Después de haber creado deliberadamente una crisis de alojamiento en los

años 80 (dejando más de 2000 alojamientos vacíos) provocando una alza
absurda de los alquileres, y haber empezado una burbuja de especulación
con consecuencias desastrosas para las finanzas de la ciudad, los
depredadores de los bienes inmobiliarios aprovechan hoy de una coyuntura

de nuevo favorable para retomar su parte de Monopoly.
El proyecto RHINO ( http://www.wild.ch/rhino ) reivindica una manera
diferente de
vivir la ciudad. Durante sus 13 años de existencia RHINO ha constituido
una experiencia piloto para la vida asociativa y la cultura alternativa.

El proyecto RHINO contempla un hábitat muy barato a largo plazo,
permitiendo a los habitantes controlar el costo de su alojamiento
(gestión sin fin lucrativo).
RHINO está hoy amenazado de desaparición por la intransigencia de su
