bufferFuct: call for compositions

"bufferFuct" - *this mp3 web release is a joint production of STEIM and the
Microsound list

I recently spent a month at STEIM <http://www.steim.nl> developing a sound
libarary called "bufferFuct"...the idea was to take bugs found in LiSa (in
house sampling software...<http://www.steim.nl/lisa.html>) and use them in
the creation of new sounds...most of the samples I developed are
beat-oriented but this doesn't mean that the final pieces have to use
beats...

invitation to "bufferFuct"
========================

- using only the material found on the hotline server (in the
"bufferFuct_ProjectFolder" folder) create a new work no longer than 6
minutes in length...shorter is better...
	[as usual please feel free to mutate, mangle, destroy, induce
failure in, and generally further f*ck up the samples to your hearts
content]

- upload finished work to the microsound hotline server for others to hear
	[microsound hotline server: microsound.synthesizer.org
--> see http://www.bigredh.com or http://www.download.com for downloading a
PC/MacOS hotline client]

***IMPORTANT***
- you must FIRST get a password from me <kim@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> to
upload/download files from the server and you have to first be a listmember
in order to get this pswd...I am back in the US now and can do this for
you...

again, this invite is to microsound list members ONLY
I will put up the .aiff files in a folder on the microsound server later
today...

*get the samples here-> path:
"Uploads/bufferFuct_ProjectFolder/bufferFuct_samples"
*put your piece here -> path: "Uploads/bufferFuct_ProjectFolder/myfolder"
	- remember to name your folder something unique and not 'myfolder"

the deadline for submissions (this means posting to the list that you have
uploaded a piece into the "bufferFuct_ProjectFolder" folder) is   June 1st,
2002

***the guidelines***
=====================
- post only 128kbps, 44.1kHz stereo, .mp3 files
- first make a folder within the "Uploads/bufferFuct_ProjectFolder" folder
and upload your finished work there...OR you can drag a folder containing
your files into the folder window on the hotline server
- please put a filetype suffix on your filename...i.e. "myCoolGlitchPiece.mp3"
- NO spaces, hyphens, or non-alphanumeric chars in the filename!!
		- good= "myCoolGlitchPiece.mp3"
		- bad= "my cool glitch-piece!"
- post to the list that you have uploaded your piece (include the name of
the piece in your email)
- all pieces submitted before the deadline will be included in the mp3
microsound release
- latecomers, bad filenames and wrong bitrates will not be included but you
can change your file to be included as long as it is before the June 1st
deadline
- deadline: JUNE 1 2002

ALL styles of microsound are welcome...
