Re: [microsound] Re: wired/lowercase/macs/oh my!
I have encountered that situation many times over with all corners of
musical genras I dont find it scary at all in fact I fnd it interesting to
obverve and see how things move out of non popular culture and into
popular culture.
Its like the whole clicky glitchy techno sounds that were comming out of
cologne 5 years ago people thought I was wierd when I discribed the kind
of music I was making or ask me who is tomas brinkmann
or mike ink. And now they are household words for the most part in certain
circles. I think like any thing there comes a time when your little secret
is no longer a secret and I think of it like this the more the merrier ...
that means if it popular annd there is demand for it then there is more
money pumped into te community and more records, shows and tours can
happen as well as in turn more new blood flushed into the community both
from a consumer and prodcuing end of things.
so its all good and the elitest attitude of ssssshhhheee lets keep this a
secret is silly and not very cool at all.
neil..
