this is the vastly spread klez.h virii/worm, which is a
state-of-the-art engineering although huge in size. it's a pc virus
so mac users should not worry. klez also has this ability to infect a
machine while being previewed in the preview pane of (older versions
of) ms outlook. then it uses any email address from the address book
and html pages being held on your pc (usually
temporary_internet_files folder) to spread around. the virii has
built in routines for sending mail, thus it requires no mail client.
the "from:" header is also faked, usually the original people never
sent you an email in the first place. just someone else who knows
them got infected. you can easily guess that by looking at the
"from:" field, it always has a one-word-name, like "jorge", "kerry",
"kelly" or even "postmaster" (a really nice try with the "returned
mail" subject). klez.h has been now officially declared to be the
worst virii ever. all major antiviruses are able to clean it. you can
google "klez.h" for more information.
