i knew you could randomize the pitch and all in fruity loops... 
but randomly just simply play a sample?  not sure how to do that one...

Reaktor , Reason, Fruity Loops, Buzz, and as someone mentioned Audio Mulch.
Buzz and Audio Mulch are free.  Fruity loops is really cheap and does some
great things to smaller samples.  It can also modulate and pitch bend every
single note sequenced from your samples.  Gives you alot of control or none
at all if thats what your aiming for.  It also happens to be extremely
stable when going crazy with the Vst's.
