Aleks, you're missing the point. The growing gap between "industrial
productivity" and "wages" won't close because I retrain. The increasing
disparity between my compensation and the value I create is flowing to
the investors, not back into another worker's paycheck...

I was being a bit fast and loose there, but my point is that musicians
and composers are adept at creation of tone and sound and not
necessarily great business people. This is true of creative folks and,
well, just about everybody except lawyers and businessmen.

I'm displeased with the societal requirement that we all have to have
MBAs to survive these days. We all laugh at the regimentation and
Taylorism of "factory life" of the turn of the 20th century, but the
current vogue for "everyman and woman their own company" is just a
brutal yoke to labor under.

Anyway, here's one for you. I downloaded a demo copy of Auto-Illustrator
last night and saw this clause in their license agreement:

"7. ARTISTIC CLAUSES

You realise that your use of this software constitutes a component of a
distributed, realtime and non-realtime interactive and autonomous
artwork between you, your computer, our software, and us (the artists)."

Any idea what the implication of this is?

(I wonder if Prince uses this software...)
