the a/v pieces were the most engaging for me in this
show (yoko ono). one was a video piece of a nude
woman being filmed as flies buzzed around exploring
her terrain. the sound seemed to have little to do
with the film directly, but it was cool in a burroughs
kind of way -- stylized vocal crying, warbling and
reversed cut-up musical sounds. maybe this is the same
thing as Fly.
i really enjoyed the christian marclay piece playing
at this museum (sf moma) the best though. whereas
i've been disappointed by him in the past i thought it
alone was worth the price of admission.
