Re: [microsound] canada day

really the only place to start looking once you're there is *organized
sound* (591-A Bank St.) it's run by linus of phonics distribution, who is a
super guy and a towering figure in the ottawa music scene. both the store
and his noggin are very well stocked...

about events, that Montreal is a fantastic place to be if one is inclined
towards Canada. I, however, am bound for Ottawa to enter a doctoral program
and am wondering if anyone out there knows of any progressive music
activity/communities in the area. Any information would be most appreciated.

night in Chapel Hill, NC - the latter was quite what I expected.
Beat-driven, a bit more fluid than his work on Ljud. He does what he does
well. Worth seeing. The highlight, though, was one of the opening duos whose
name is escaping me now. One word. Starts with a T. REALLY nice
experimentation in the vein of Fennesz without being derivative. And the
graphics were lovely. Very warm, abstract, a good complement to the music.
If the show comes your way, keep an ear open to these two....
