I don't have any specifics but there are lots
of artists that have experimented in this area.
Try experimenting with a magnet (a old speaker
works great) and running them over your tapes.
I've been experimenting a bit with those
X-10 remote video cameras. THey work
in the 2 GHZ cordless phone range. I've
been turning the transmitter and receiver
antenas off axis so that the pick up loses
sync and come back. The flatness of the
image is great already but once it starts
glitching out it's just beautiful. I tried
once to get my cordless phone to interfere
with the signal (or maybe even pick it up)
but didn't have any immediate luck.
Anyone ever patch a video signal into
audio input. Sample the signal and
then pitch it way, way down? I guess
the sampling rate of the audio chain
isn't high enough for the video signal
to be able to capture the high freq
stuff to be able to pictch it down.
On the audio/video side I've also played
with dangling unbalance cables near or
on a non-shield older TV monitor. Moving
the cable until I picked up the intereferance
that I was looking for. I found an interesting
thing that the pitch of the interference changed
on each picture edit that happen, depending
on the colors and brightness of the image.
Was handy for whatever audio post sound
design thing I was doing, because I needed
the pitch to change with the picture and it did!
