Sounds a bit like 'The Manual(how to have a number one the easy way)' by
Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty, which totally slaughters the pop record
no.1 hit process, and the original book actually came with a guarantee
that if you followed the steps completely and didn't get you no.1 hit
you could get your money back.
