CIRCUITS OF STEEL TOUR : 7/20 : CLEVELAND OH
For those of you in the Eastern, Midwestern and Southern U.S., look out in
the coming months in your town for the invasion of CIRCUITS OF STEEL. This
is a tour promoting a double-CD compilation including 30 leftfield
electronic and experimental artists from the Pittsburgh, PA area (which is
in Western Pennsylvania). Represented are the subgenres of IDM, breakcore,
digital hardcore, electro, musique concrete, harsh noise, darkambient and
plunderphonics. Co-sponsored by Grooves magazine, various groups of artists
from the compilation will perform live in 26 cities. Check one of the shows

Grand Buffet - alternative hip-hop duo who have hookups with Anticon and
toured the US with Wesley Willis, Cex and Sage Francis
Holocaust - digital hardcore motivated by political activism and the DIY
ethos of the punk scene
Syne Lapse Variate - - complex and tough-sounding IDM with touches of
robotic funk and influences from the experimental/industrial scene
Climax Street - melodic and rhythmic downtempo IDM in a European style
reminiscent of Morr Music and City Centre Offices
Manherringbone - the region's champion of Japanese-style noise, he runs a
label and network magazine called IBOL Records

Twine are masters of a seemingly impossible task, a synthesis of sonic
experimentation and rhythmic architecture that is entrancing and unique?It

With his intricate colors, abstract shapes and organic texture it seems like
a visual equivalent of a lot of electronic music artists nowadays, the work
of Phase4 is based on similar ideas that are being used in so much music:
