RE: [microsound] pop



kim's distinctions cover some good territory... but seem centered around pop
"culture" and not necessarily pop "music". 

Something like "Get the Knack" is still pop music... even though currently
no desire is being manufactured around it. It no longer is part of the
dynamic of pop "culture" which I agree is this fleeting moving target. It
still however fits into the "pop music" category, due to it's structure and
the way it was originally marketed.

"Pop" is very contextually dependent.
