digidesign page says under 2500usd. hmm, interesting concept: the unit also
functions also as a 8-track digital mixer (without the computer) /w effects
(so there seems to be processing power on the unit itself, in addition to
rtas-plugin in the computer.. hmm, quasi-tdm?) and houses a built-in
firewire drive. not exactly cheap, but you do get quite a much, motorised
faders, for start.

i wondered what digidesign would do with firewire, so this is it. nice one,
i think, the faders look like the ones in control 24, what is a pleasure to
use... these mounted to a 'box+wire+laptop'-package make this device quite
interesting..
