interactive environments

Hello dear list,
a dear friend of mine has asked me to give her some resources about
interavctive environments (like sounds, or lights, or videos changing
with user movements). She wants to know about existing software for Mac
(e.g. MAX?) and also about sensors and things like that. I'd be very
glad if you can help us.
