Re: [microsound] [ot] cross-posting



For me, the biggest nuisance with cross-posting is those people who almost
*never* contribute to any healthy discussion on the various mailing lists
available but almost *always* post their playlist, trade list, sale list or
auction to every music list out there. I find that in poor taste but indeed
a simple "sorry for the cross-post" although only a small comfort, is at
least an acknowledgement.

Ironically, when a message hits my inbox to 3 different accounts
simultaneously it usually gets tagged as spam and is deleted. But then
again, what's a person to do when they want everyone to know what played on
their radio station last night? There are 4 or 5 good mailing lists out
there with healthy discussions on electronic music, I know not everyone is
subscribed to all of them so how does one inform all while avoiding the
dreaded cross-post ?
