Announcing c e n t i b e l v2.0

(the usual mumbled apologies for x-posting)

c e n t i b e l (v2.0) is now online, featuring tracks from Forma and
rjtuna. Tracks from v1.0 are still online at www.sfu.ca/~pthomson/.

c e n t i b e l is an online label for the presentation of new works in
experimental digital audio, as well as other forms of digital art
(video, web animation, etc.). We are always accepting contributions from
established and emerging artists. Though we listen to all works
submitted, we will prioritize works that explore minimalism and
minimality; quiets, silences, and listenings; the nature of the digital
audio medium, "digitality", and (post-)digital politics/aesthetics.

c e n t i b e l also challenges contributors to move beyond conventions
of the microsound genre ("clicks and cuts," etc.) to help to evolve new
aesthetic tendencies that take advantage of the microsound's aesthetic
insights while offering a way past the impasse that those insights have
tended to produce.

Submission guidelines: Works can be submitted in one (1) of two (2)
ways.

1) Via postal mail (see address below), please send submissions on CD-R,
mini-disc, floppy diskette, cassette, phonograph, wax cylinder, paper
tape, punch cards, raw binary handwritten on a sheet of clean white
paper, etc. No DAT's please.

2) email the c e n t i b e l curator at hellomynameisphil@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
providing a *link* to a site where your work can be downloaded. Please
do not email sound files directly or you will be racked with guilt for
days afterwards.

The c e n t i b e l curator is ph:L, and is reachable at this address:

#206A - 611 E. 7th Ave.

c e n t i b e l looks (and listens) forward to your submissions.
