Announce: TRANSCINEMA 02

________________________
TRANSCINEMA 02
Begins on Tuesday, October 8th
Events will continue at various locations until Sunday, October 13th

Starting Tuesday, October 8th in the Cities of San Francisco and San Jose,
Transcinema 02 will be showcasing video, electronic, and projection arts.

With the support and participation of Blasthaus, The LAB, SFMOMA, ZeroOne,
and Dimension 7, Transcinema 02 will present six days of the brightest, most
creative minds in a variety of genres including performance, installation,
projection, sound and video.

We have assembled over 30 featured artists and projects exploring the genre
of "expanded cinema". These renegade technologists represent a collective
micro-movement within the new media arts. From laptop performances to video
installations and "live cinema" events, the 2002 Transcinema promises to be
the most ambitious since the festival's inception 4 years ago.

For the full program go to http://www.transcinema.com

This is the only event of it's kind in the US, so don't miss this unique
opportunity to be part this great event!

VIDEO RIOT

Dimension 7 (D7) will host "Video Riot!", a special installment of their
monthly "Video Salon". Tonight we will create a massive 300 foot wall of
light on a building across from the D7 studio downtown.

Artists are invited to bring projectors, video mixers, lasers, computers,
and most importantly, their original content.

Preference will be given to artists who bring their own gear. This promises
to be a truly intense collective projection experience.

Founded in 1998, TRANSCINEMA brings together interdisciplinary artists who
explore the use of technology and experiential art through four major
components: live performances, interactive installations, screenings and
discussion. Through regular programming and it's annual festival,
TRANSCINEMA has helped to bring similar artists together to forge new
paradigms of the cinematic experience.
