onkyo and a general introduction

re: onkyo = reverb?

the on in onyko is the character for sound (or oto) and I have seen it on
this list as this guy's signature file . .

the kyo can be generally translated as 'interest', so i guess a literal
translation of onkyo can be "an interest in sound" :)

Also, since I'm intending to post to the list more often now, I guess I
should do the whole "get to know me" e-mail now. I tinker a bit with what
i guess you could call onkyo inspired hip-hop (or blip hop) i.e. your
typical 4/4 beat with weird noises type deal . . I'm also studying
Japanese/Biotechnology, and I'm interested in applying the idea of
mutation to music. . Ever since playing "chinese whispers" as a child
I've been interested in the idea that small mistakes gradually become big
changes, as is the case with evolution and mutation . . a gradual build
up of base pair changes in the DNA becomes a translation for a different
nucleic acid in a protein . . . Or ring modulation added by a tape
gradually going out of phase. . A video copied so many times it loses
it's quality and gains new artifacts passed on to the next 'generation' .
..

Is anyone else toying with these ideas in their composition? I don't
really have time to do so right now, but i intend to eventually.

Anyway, I've rambled on enough for now. .

thanks for your time!
