NEQUAQUAM VACUUM=20
This live event was on July 27 of 2002 at The Jasmine Tree Tiki
Lounge in Portland, Oregon. They were playing an instrument called
the Prepared Piano Harp, which they built themselves from the insides
of a piano that was destroyed by a 20-foot-tall steel marionette
as part of a noise/performance show performed on a barge floating
down the Willamette River. They modified the piano harp by building
bridges into the superstructure that allowed them to bow and pluck
some of the strings, as well as inserting various objects into the
strings that create buzzing, flapping and ringing sounds. The
piano harp is miked with two open air mikes and two contact mikes
affixed to either side of the main sounding board.
