hi neil,

 the response of bastien is not really actual and pertinent i think it's
because he don't live in paris .
about the scene there's a pretty big avant pop electronic music with active
suspension/clapping music, i create a label last year called List
http://www.list-en.com, who's just released Sogar "stengel" cd and will
release the Mou, Lips ! "peanuts..." in january .
the venues is another thing, the batofar will be closed in late december,
beaubourg or fondation cartier are not really music oriented places,
concerts are more ponctual .
there's some gallery where you can make concerts like the purple institute
or console from time to time .
i really hope that le palais de tokyo will remake concerts ( they stop for
security problem or i think because of the politics of the new government
who don't care a lot about this kind of culture).
yes, life is expensive in paris but less than in new york or london for sur=

the national front is a cancer for france but i think this is one we can
kill, a big majority of french are totally opposed to them and more in pari=
s
than in the rest of france, excuse me but i don't think that georges.w.bush
is a lot better than le pen who is not president or even in the french
parliament !

for a 20 m3 in the center of paris, you will pay 450-500 euros ( 1 dollar i=

around  0,80 euro now), you can't be payed under 900 euros a month, a coffe
is around 2 euros etc...
there's a good social system too .
it depends on what you expect in france but you can live well with 1400-150=

euros .
