any recommendations for a firewire hardware audio interface (for a mac, say an iBook)? 

most of my work has been desktop related and since theres been significant (to say the least) progress with laptop audio hardware, i was wondering what people's experience was with this... (i think MOTU makes some good gear but it seems a bit out of my range money-wise at the moment)
