Mathieu/ Willits/ Sogar tiny reviews.
Hello list,
I'm new to this list but thought I could offer some new sounds (new to me at
least) that have saved my sanity recently. I apologize if I have missed
recent discussions regarding any of these things.
Stephan Mathieu-Full Swing EP
I like the textures. The mix seems to utilize two speakers not as Stereo, but
as two different channels. Does this makes sense ? I may move the speakers
in my living room to hear this in a less left/right way. Maybe front and
back ?
Christopher Willits - Folding And the Tea
My favourite disc this year. I love the beautiful phrases and rhythmic
fragments. It sounds like folding, I guess thats why the title. I read
someone said its similar to fennesz but I dont hear that. It is quite
different and actually i like it better but not sure why yet. Very nice
packaging and images too. I want to hear this live.
Sogar- Stengel
Very Smooth stuff and floats around nicely. I am not sure if its better than
basal the 12k one, but I guess why does it have to be? It's just different
in a good way, might have more depth in terms of the space of the sounds?
Melodic and Delicate as well. And I like the yellow cover. I'm excited to
hear more from this project in the future. Live would be nice too.
All right, I have thought aloud. To whoever runs this list thanks for having
it. It now gives me something to do at work! Feedback ? Any music I should
check out ?
Cheers,
Lumon
