[OT] how do I build a platform (stage)?

Sorry for the crosspost and off-topic question, but I need your help.
I'm looking for plans/schematics on how to build a platform/raised
floor, no more than 12" high (sorry for the non-metric measurements).  I
will be using 2x6 studs, 4x6 sheets of plywood, and possibly 4x4 posts.
I know that the joists are supposed to be no more than 16" apart, and I
guess I could figure out how to design the infrastructure, but I'd like
to get my hands on some plans that have worked for someone else.  I've
gone through about ten hours of googling and asking jeeves and digging
through the library stacks for every possible "how-to" home decorating
source--alas, to no avail.

At some point this platform will function as a small stage in the main
room of my new place, which I hope to utilize as an alternative art and
performance space for intimate lowercase/microsound/etc. concerts.
