The question that springs to mind is - "what is more important for the
independent artist? - selling all of his/her
500 CDs or getting their music to a wider audience?" Living in a country
where an experimental limited edition CD
is not very easy to get by, I have to say that being able to turn to
SoulSeek to search for some new name I see
on the Net (e.g. on the list) makes my life much more exciting - this way
I can decide what I like, and then go on to buy
those records online, or if I happen to stumble upon them in my local record
shop.

And I'm sure you won't find too many true music lovers ( and these are the
people who go for experimental , aren't they?)
who would prefer a cd of burnt mp3's over an original artist's CD.
