OSX

> and for mac users (OS9 for now)?

I've heard good and bad about OSX: slow, finicky, confusing at times but
also being rock solid stable, much less likely to crash/freeze, and being
multi-threaded will only crash one app at a time...I guess it depends in
what audio apps you are running...

for me I am going to wait until end of the year since I some of the patches
I've developed in Max/MSP use one-off 'boutique' externals that will never
be ported to OSX since the developer is no longer supporting it or not
interested in porting it to the OSX platform...so until all the little
externals I use are somehow able to either be implemented in xmax or have
been ported to OSX then I am remaining in a 9.x MacOS world...

if you're using Live, Logic Cubase or ProTools then I think it is really a
matter of migrating ALL of your other productivity apps to OSX or having to
boot in 9.x for them...cheaper than buying all new Word, Excel, Powerpoint,
Peak, blah apps...
