This is true - Peak's interface and usability is really annoying. Amadeus II
is pretty good but it does lack several fundamental features - DC offset and
a limit of one VST plugin the effects of which must be written to disk for
example.
I find I have to jump around between several programs - Spark and Sound
Studio are also useful:

If someone would get around to creating an all in one simple wave editor
with multiple tracks and true panning that would be nice
