personally don't see any reason to mention these two in the same breath,
cecil + conlon come from _very_ different places:
conlon nancarrow's music is calculated, formal, and has no dynamics (it's a
limitation of player piano technology).
cecil taylor's music is intuitive, cathartic, expressive, and powerfully
dynamic.
conlon nancarrow: apollonian.
cecil taylor: dionysian.
