Steve Reich in Sydney
I can't afford to go to both. Anyone got any opinions on what would be the
better show (from a microsound perspective)? I mean is there a piece in
only one of the shows that I just shouldn't miss?
The advertising (targeted at the youth market) describes him as "the
godfather of sampling."
I can't understand why anyone would say this. As far as I know Riech had
had enough of electronics by 1968. It was too precise for him. He wanted
human error in the music. Maybe I can ask him about the sampling tag in
the Q & A if I go on the tuesday.
