I own a restored Polivoks (a.k.a. "russkivox") and its a fun box. The 
restoration was simply replacing the potentiometers with less noisy 
western capitalist compoments. The sound is wild, like the filter can 
be set far outside what is "musically" useful. The circuits are unique 
as they were paranoid of infringing any western patents according to 
designer.

If you want to drive it with MIDI you should use an CV-interface that 
can be set to about 0.7V/octave and inverted trig.
