Newbie Introduction

Hello

My name is Patrick.  I'm new to the list and although I've been making 
electronic music for about 8 years, the programming and generally more 
intelectual side of  electronic music (ie accousmatic, electroaccoustic and 
feild recordings as well as the new forms of electronic minimalism) has 
eluded itself to me until just recently when I met some artist who are more 
liberal with their interpretation and dealings with sound.

That being said, what did I miss? I know alot has gone on around me without 
my knowledge. I figure the people who post here are either creators or just 
in the know and your post would probably break the steady stream of 
micropolotics that gestates in my inbox. Not that I haven't enjoyed the 
different sides of this issue (after all  I'm an American) but I joined 
right when the U.S. went to war and haven't seen to many  music related 
posts.
