i just raided kraig's email address book so i could spread the word:
this friday (4/25) at 8 p.m., at a place called LAFCO, i and 11 others
will perform steve reich's drumming.  it's rarely performed and SUCH a
fun (and energetic) piece.  it's around 70 minutes of gradual phasing
changes.  it always puts me in a very euphoric state.

lafco is located at 660 venice blvd (in venice) on the south side of the
street, east of abbot kinney. if you're traveling south on the 405 (1
exit south of the 10 fwy), exit venice blvd.  this puts you on sawtelle,
and you have to turn right, then left (west) on venice.  and surely
there are signs telling you how to get to venice blvd, since that IS the
exit!

I would like to announce the release of a new compilation CD:

  One-Minute Vacations (QPCD002)

By agreement of all 28 contributors, all profits from the sale of this CD
will go to charitable organizations. Top contenders at the moment are
Heifer International and Doctors Without Borders.

The disk collects the first year's worth of 'one-minute vacations,'
unedited one-minute-long field recordings made somewhere, somewhen. A new
'vacation' is shared every Monday at:
