I wanted to send out this announcement as a long shot to any nyc-area
residents who happen to have children entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grades...

I am running a 2 week summer session for soundscape recording and
composition in midtown manhattan in mid june. I won=B9t cram your inbox with

We=B9ve got 8 student slots, 8 ibooks, and 8 minidisc/binaural mic setups. Im
very excited about this, and hope it is the start of an ongoing program at
this location. We plan on running around manhattan recording weird sounds i=

the mornings and spending the afternoons editing and composing, listening t=
o
pieces, watching relevant videos, building contact mics, etc... Should be a
blast.=20
The location, incidentally, is a brand new(not yet opened) experimental
theater/gallery/performance space on 42nd st between 9th and 10th ave...mor=
e
