talk about supersonic signals and distortion

Hey Kids,

  I was reading an interview with Rupert Neve and it brought to mind
different theories about the audio spectrum above 20,000hz , especially in
regards to the psychological effects on the listener.

 -almost seems to me that there is a sort of 'uber-music which happens in
studios with the highest resolution gear , cleanest signal paths and so
forth and the commercial products as they reach most consumers are a sort of
'dross' or simulcrum of a more pure and less frustrating experience .

 I'm curious how list members feel about such things , experiences with sub
and supersonics , whether 24/192 digital audio is a good idea . I'm
interested in how people view obsession and detachment in regards to actual
sound.

  Nothing really new , I know. My views are always changing on the subject
and I'm wondering it this is the case with other electronic musicians.
