framework - phonography/field recording; contextual and decontextualized
sound activity
presented by patrick mcginley
a framework intro from slavek kwi (aka artificial memory trace) this week,
then work by j. frede, new zealand's cmr label, and a mix of two tracks from
the twin releases on erewhon and intransitive by seth nehil/jgrzinich. we
featured the most mysterious submission framework has had to date as well: a
hand painted cdr that appears to be by someone called squirrel manoeuvers,
no contact info, no note, no further details. in fact 'no further details'
is exactly what it says on the disc. it also says, 'please pass on to
someone else when you have finished listening,' so, in keeping with the
artist's wishes, the first person to send me an address gets it...
our next edition will feature the work of toby paddock, dallas simpson and
crawl unit, as well as an introduction recorded by the gentleman at erewhon.
hope you can tune in!
again, we are always looking for material for the show, whether raw field
recordings or field recording based composition. send material, released or
not, on any format, to the address below. we are also hoping to have live
performances as often as possible, so if you are in or passing through
london please get in touch!
