.--most of the artists playing the label showcases are unpaid. & yes the
labels pay for a spot.

.--this is very unlike Mutek, which pays all artists involved, even if the
fee is nominal (afaik, all caveats apply).

I was shocked to find out this was the way Sonar worked; there is a strong
imbalance in fees between the Night artists (who are well paid) and the Day
artists (who are often unpaid, and their label forks out for them to get
them there, get the showcase, etc).
