i would have to disagree with you there.

D&M are the only cutting house that i know of (if
anybody knows of more ...please share) that cuts
perfect locked grooves. everyone else that i have
spoken with cannot 'guarantee that they will all be
100% perfect' to quote aardvark. 

i believe that D&M must have a modification on their
cutter that drops and lifts the head with complete
precision, in terms of time, whereas most cutter heads
are dropped and lifted by hand. any of you who have
seen this process know that this is anything but
precise.

as you can well imagine, the slightest variation in
time, plus or minus, will greatly affect the original
recording.
