Cage and dada
I was using dada as an adjective not a proper noun.
Cage has great respect for the dadaists, actually though he is certainly not
a Dada artist. Many of the current dada appropriationists have a great
respect for Cage. My stepfather is a reknowned Dada appropriationist and
Dada scholar. He is a died in the wool Cage-ian. As well, many of the
notable Dada and Duchamp scholars are Cage fans as well.
The lines are somewhat transparent, but they are there.

Cage considered recordings as "postcards".
When asked to write a percussion piece explicitly for a recording he
composed a piece of exactly 74 minutes - CD lenght, in order to "make sense"
of the specificity of the operation.
Not to be particularly interested in anything doesn't not imply to dislike
it.
In this case, I don't think he's particularly dada.
