well, i don't know how involved he was in many of the recordings. other
people can play his pieces and record them and i wouldn't think he'd
spend too much time trying to stop them.

but i think he makes a valid point about music and what it can be
[something more than a commodity].

so, i don't think it's really hypocrasy- it just is. as walt whitman once
wrote- "Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I
am large, I contain multitudes.)."
