proceeds from this event will be put towards the New Forms Festival, an=20=

annual Vancouver event celebrating innovation in arts and technology. =20=

This year=92s festival happens on the four days between July 30th and=20
August 2nd and features panels, workshops and performances from a wide=20=

array of local, national, and international artists and musicians.

Artist Information:

Having recently moved back to San Francisco from Berlin, Matthew Curry=20=

aka Safety Scissors is poised to take west coast electronic/indie music=20=

to the next level.  His Parts Water LP for Los Angeles=92 well-regarded=20=

Plug Research record label was picked by many critics as one of last=20
year=92s best, and with another album in the works and various EP=20
projects, including music for his own much-hyped Proptronix label, 2003=20=

is looking like another big year for this charasmatic crooner.  Fresh=20
off an invited performance at Spain=92s prestigious SONAR festival,=20
Safety Scissors will drop the type of infectious laptop and vocal=20
performance that validates his claim to the title of =93ultimate dork=20

Partner-in-crime Seth Horvitz aka Sutekh may be San Francisco=92s most=20=

well known proponent of =93laptop techno,=94 and although many fellow=20
artists consider his beat-oriented live funk to be the best in the biz,=20=

it is probably his subtle and introspective ambient excursions that=20
separate him most from the pack.  Sutekh=92s albums and many EPs for=20
labels like Orthlorng Musork, Background, Onitor, Delay, Source, Plug=20
Research, Belief-Systems and Drop Beat have created a demand for him to=20=

tour all over the world; his most recent Force Inc album, =93Incest=20
Live,=94 is an exploration of some of his most outstanding performance=20=

moments.  Sutekh is also the man behind Context Free Media, the record=20=

label that has featured debut EPs from such notable producers as Safety=20=
