well, quantizing leads to being more accurate in time. it does not necessarily make anything "sound" perfect. the product "reason" can quantize beats and so forth but i prefer it not to. quantizing makes everything in a track stick to the measurements of a certain note (full note, half, quarter, eighth, sixteenth, etc.).
