You should read Dominick LaCapra's 'Rethinking Intellectual History and
Rethinking Texts' if you haven't already - its anthologised in his
'Rethinking Intellectual History: Texts, Contexts, Language.' Has some good
stuff on the relationship between intention and interpretation.
