Nominations are now being accepted for the 4th Annual
Canadian Independent Music Awards.=20

The spirit and success of independent music is stronger
and louder than ever. Hundreds of artists, who don't
fit in with the ever-narrowing radio formats, are
none-the-less breaking through to a hungry public and
winning the support of fans, media and tastemakers
across the nation. These artists will be honoured at
the Canadian Music Week Festival (CMW) with the public
presentation of the 4th Annual Canadian Independent
Music Awards show, simply titled "The Indies".  On
Wednesday March 3, 2004, "The Indies" will serve as the
official CMW 2004 Opening Night party, kicking off the
festivities for the CMW Music Festival, running from
March 3 - 6, 2004.

Categories for the 2004 Indie Awards include:

Dance=20
Urban=20=20
Electronica=20

SUBMISSION / NOMINATION CRITERIA:

- Submissions must have been released within the 18
months prior to November 1st, 2003
- The applicant must specify what category they are
applying for
- Must be a commercial release (no demo=92s or CDR=92s)
- Artists/bands must be minimum 51% Canadian
citizenship/landed immigrant
- Submission=92s distributor can be Canadian and/or
multi-national
- 51% of submission=92s songwriting and recording must be
100% Canadian
- Minimum production run of 500 units
- Deadline for nominations is November 1st, 2003=20
- Albums nominated for a 2003 Indie will not be
eligible.=20
