Microsounders living around or planning to visit Amsterdam
anytime might be interested to know that performances and
events in Studio301, housed in the former Dutch National Film
Academy at Overtoom 301, are about to begin again after a
year's forced inactivity due to fire safety problems and
extensive renovations. 

The building, now known simply as OT301, was squatted 4 years
ago by EHBK [Eerste Hulp Bij Kunst], a diverse group of artists
and activists who have since negotiated a rental contract and
and subsidy for renovation works under the city government's
"broedplaats" [breeding ground] policy. OT301 was a hive of
[sub]cultural activity before being ordered by the fire
department to suspend all public activity in the building in
October 2002.

As an avid reader of this list in recent months and one of
those busy with development of Studio301, i'm happy to finally
have the opportunity to invite list members to drop by any time
we have something on and you're in the area.
