Hi Andy,
If you're talking about Santa Cruz, California, I can probably hook you up
to a number of other people with similar interests. I've done a little bit
of looping myself (including custom software), and an absurd quantity of
computer music. I'd love to collaborate on something, but I'm actually a
dad located in Boulder Creek, so I don't get down to town as much as I'd
like. Some scheduled meetups, perhaps?
Some web sites of interest (these should include instructions on how to get
on associated mailing lists):
http://www.woodstockhausen.org (A annual event I organize with lots of others)
http://www.looppool.info (Rick Walker, the experimental looping guru)
http://www.kinderbender.org (my circuit-bending band)
http://www.elsaproductions.com (Veronique Larcher's local non-profit)
http://www.santacruzdigitalarts.org (Annual event organized by Daryl Wise)
Hope this helps! Despite the fact that Art Council budget just got slashed
in Santa Cruz, the experimental music scene is alive and well.
