Not just these discussions, but the whole bloody internet as well. However, I 
think a good dose of art school ('72 - '76) did get much of the crap out of 
me, especially when 75% of the painting dept at St Martins were a clique of 
clothes horse morons, who couldn't read, and thought you were shit if you didn't 
name drop or know David Bowie's manager.
  Oh well I've succumbed: Here goes; contentious position number umpteen: 
Visual art is pointless, with the exception possibly of sculpture, who gives a 
shit about it or bothers to go and see it.. Car ads on TV are good (car desire 
is pathetic) cos you do get to hear Portishead and the Aphex Twin. Yes!!!!! The 
supreme irony the Merc ad featuring "Windowlicker". Windowlicker is another 
way of saying "mong" or "spazzy". Luv Chris b
